Maximum Light (1998)

 

Mitte des 21. Jahrhunderts ist die Fruchtbarkeitsrate um nahezu achtzig Prozent gesunken, das Durchschnittsalter in den USA bei 54. Die wenigen Kinder werden wie Schätze gehütet. Klonen funktioniert beim Menschen nicht, deshalb wird die Gentechnik verboten. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden die Schicksale von drei völlig verschiedenen Personen aufgezeigt: Nick Clementi, ein fünfundsiebzigjähriger Doktor, Cameron Atuli, achtundzwanzig, Tänzer beim National Ballett, dem ein Teil seiner Erinnerungen entfernt wurde und schließlich Shana Walders, die gerade ihre letzten Tage bei den National Service Corps leistet und dabei eine unglaubliche Entdeckung macht.
